About Karlstad
Karlstad is the county seat of Värmland, built on the delta where the Klarälven river flows into Lake Vänern. The town likes to call itself the Sun City, and Mariebergsskogen, with animals, playgrounds and an open-air museum, is a short walk from the centre. The winter sports break falls in early March, later than in southern Sweden.
