Timer & stopwatch
Count down with a timer or measure time with a stopwatch. Choose what to show and go fullscreen for classrooms, meetings, workouts or the kitchen.
How do I set the timer?
Choose Timer and enter hours, minutes and seconds, or use the quick picks for 1, 5, 10, 15, 30 or 60 minutes. Click Start. You can pause and resume at any time. When time is up a sound plays and the display flashes red.
How does the stopwatch work?
The stopwatch counts up in hundredths of a second. Press Lap to save a split time without stopping the clock, ideal for running, swimming, interval training or measuring how long a task takes.
Show the timer in fullscreen
Choose whether to show the timer or the stopwatch and click Show in fullscreen. The digits fill the whole screen and are easy to read from a distance on a projector, TV or second monitor. Press Esc to exit.
When is a timer useful?
A countdown timer helps keep time during presentations, exams, meetings and classroom breaks. It is also handy in the kitchen, for rest between sets when training, and for focus methods like Pomodoro with 25 minutes of work and a 5 minute break.
How accurate is the timer?
Time is measured from the device's system clock rather than by counting updates, so the timer stays correct even when the browser tab is in the background. Keep the screen on if you want to watch the countdown.
