Autumn break, known as höstlov, takes place during week 44 and provides students with five days off starting Monday October 26 through Friday October 30. This break occurs midway through the autumn term which began on August 17 and concludes on December 17.
Christmas break, or jullov, serves as the longest holiday of the year with a total of 25 calendar days. Students finish their classes on December 18 and remain off until Monday January 11 2027 when the spring term begins. This period covers weeks 51, 52 and 1. Individual schools may schedule their own staff training days throughout the year, so it is a good practice to check with the local school for any additional dates.
