About Umeå
Umeå is the largest city in Norrland, set on the Ume river a few kilometres from the coast. It has a large university and many young families, and the winters are long, so the winter sports break comes later than in southern Sweden. Paths along the river are used all year round, and Västerbotten Museum at Gammlia runs children's activities during the breaks.
